Memorial Day

It's always been a tradition for the Larsen family to attend the Memorial Day Services at the Holden cemetery, and honor our service men and women. It's a day that I have always looked forward to and a tradition I would like to continue with my own little family.

This year, we didn't make it over to Holden, so our little family attended the services in Richfield. It was such a beautiful morning! We started off with a delicious breakfast from the local Lion's Club, watched friends and family reuniting and telling stories of their loved ones, attended the the veterans program...what a neat experience that was, and then ended our morning with a walk through the beautiful cemetery decorated with lots of flowers and flags.

I didn't know how long Tyler would last, being as young as he is; but to my amazement, Tyler did great...he was so cute and loved every minute we were there! It's as if he he wanted to show his appreciation to all our veterans at his very young age. Tyler took the time to smell all the flower arrangements, shake strangers hands, and recognize the American flag at each of the veterans graves.

I am so proud to be an American, and I am so thankful for all the men and women who have served and who are serving this wonderful country we call home.
